On The Cutting Edge of Yesterday |
I'm just a girl who loves a boy and we live in Brooklyn (for now). We take pictures together. I like vintage things, buttons, crafts and fat birds. |
The first Christmas Advent chocolate.
Every year, my mom still gets us chocolate Advent calendars. She always makes sure that she picks out the perfect ones. The teal one is mine, because it is my current favorite color. Thank you Mom!
I made a set of wings in the show tonight! You can see a glimpse in the promo video on their website. Watch tonight at 10:00 on CBS and look for the colorful scarf wings!
(I’ll post a picture of them after it airs.)
Magazines are annoying.
[We] have completed the airport ritual of aggressively removing all subscription cards, blow-ins, thick bound-in ads, ad jackets, and other nonsense before reading the magazines we’ve purchased.

Thanksgiving: A United States holiday commemorated by adults traveling back to their hometowns, enjoying their family for a while, exhausting most conversational possibilities after a day, becoming bored senseless, realizing that there’s still three more days left in the weekend, meeting up with old friends who are also in town for the weekend and similarly bored, learning that absolutely no nearby bars or coffee shops are open (or exist), and realizing that the only thing to do is to drink their parents’ liquor and play Euchre like naughty high-schoolers, except that they were too nerdy to drink their parents’ liquor in high school, so they’re doing it at age 27 instead when it’s far less cool and rebellious but far more obvious as the best choice they have at the moment to pass the time and enjoy themselves.
This was my first Thanksgiving away from my family. But it was also my first Thanksgiving with my new family. So it was a meal of new traditions and foods. First on the menu was Jesus soup made with a half decade old bottle of holy water… yup, you heard me.

For the main meal we had a turkey that was brined in maple syrup and then smoked, oyster stuffing (we found a pearl while eating it), heavenly hash, sweet potato casserole, Marco’s mom’s everything-but-the-kitchen-sink stuffing, and two kinds of cranberry sauce.

It was a lovely, satisfying meal full of new holiday flavors and laughs that can only be had around a family table.
But there is still an empty place in my belly that can only be filled by a stuffin’ muffin.

Drinking at the airport bar. The best way to travel on the holidays. Drunk.
This is still the funniest video on the internet. Period.
I’m feeling a Strand trip coming on…
I want to have some kind of party where guests dress up kind of fantsy retro style. I want to decorate our apartment. I also want to cook, but not tons. Maybe pot-luck holiday retro pictionary party night with the Arments? Maybe. Thinking about it. Maybe. We need a house.
I stumbled on this cute site while looking for printed kraft paper.
