Every time we get a basil plant it dies. Why?

plants are telepathic, you need to think about the basil more, say nice things to it…and clip it every week..

Seconding the bit about the outdoors. Our basil looked like that until we got it into a bigger pot, outdoors, with plenty of water.

Use a BIG pot, lots of sunshine and real careful with the water. You can save that sucker!

I haven’t found they do well in indoors. I’ve always done better keeping them outside and planting in the ground if possible.

That pot looks a little small for the size of the plant. Maybe the roots don’t have enough room.

They’re a meditteranean plant—so the first hing of a chill kills. Also, your plants look like they’re crowding eachother out.
